The short version: Ode does not collect, transmit, store remotely, sell, or share any of your data with anyone. Everything you enter into Ode stays on your device. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
This policy must match exactly what is declared in this app's App Store Connect "Privacy Nutrition Label." If that declaration ever changes, this policy will be updated to match.
Ode is used to track a partner's menstrual cycle and log related observations. The data you may enter includes a name and optional photo for the person you're tracking, cycle dates and length, daily mood and energy logs, optional written reflections, and notification preferences.
All of this is stored exclusively on your device, in an encrypted local file (AES-256-GCM encryption via Apple's CryptoKit framework), inside your device's Application Support directory. This file is explicitly excluded from iCloud backup. The encryption key is stored in your device's Keychain and is not extractable or synced to other devices.
Ode makes no network requests. There is no backend server. Your data is never transmitted anywhere, at any time, for any reason.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party, for any purpose, including advertising. Ode has no mechanism to transmit your data anywhere, so there is nothing available to sell or share in the first place.
Ode does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, because it performs no such tracking.
If you choose to add a photo for the tracked person, Ode requests access to your photo library solely to let you pick that image. It is stored locally, never uploaded or transmitted.
Ode schedules local notifications on your device using Apple's notification framework. These are generated entirely on-device from your own logged data.
Ode offers an optional premium subscription, processed entirely through Apple's App Store. Ode never sees, collects, or stores your payment information — that is handled directly between you and Apple.
Ode does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or tracking libraries.
Because Ode does not collect, receive, or store any of your data outside your own device, we have nothing to give you access to, correct, or delete on your behalf — you already have complete, direct control over all of it, at all times, through the app itself.
Ode is built to be used with the knowledge and consent of the person whose cycle you're tracking. If you are the person being tracked by someone else's use of Ode and have concerns, please raise it directly with that person — Ode has no relationship with, no data from, and no way to identify or contact anyone other than the person who downloaded and installed the app.
Ode is not directed at, marketed to, or intended for use by children.
You can delete a tracked profile at any time from within the app. Deleted profiles are retained locally for a 30-day recovery window, after which they are permanently removed. Because nothing is ever transmitted off your device, deleting the app permanently and completely removes that data.
Ode provides general educational information about menstrual cycles and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
